My First Month as an Intern at MetaGruppen

🐣 I have now completed my first month as an intern at MetaGruppen 🐣
Here is some of what I have gotten to work on and learn so far:
- Deep dive into SEO: I have learned to implement the basic rules for search engine optimization, but also delved into technical On-Page SEO. This means everything from restructuring heading hierarchies for optimal search flow and writing compelling meta descriptions, to speed-optimizing images and writing strategic ALT texts. Extra fun is that one of the blog posts I created is already ranking at number 2 on Google!
- Advanced Schema Markup: I have learned to build very detailed and comprehensive Schema Markup. This is crucial for search engines to exactly understand and highlight the websites' content.
- Web Development & UX Improvements: I have worked practically with page building in WordPress (via Elementor and Oxygen, among others) and familiarized myself with Squarespace. A major focus here has been on troubleshooting, conversion rate optimization, and user-friendliness, such as fixing broken CTA buttons, building responsive mobile menus, ensuring the design is appealing and readable on small screens, and correcting HTML language tags.
- Tracking & GDPR: I have set up Cookie banners for clients to ensure that tracking is done in accordance with GDPR. I have also gotten to troubleshoot why tracking and sessions sometimes break when users switch subdomains.
- Agency Life & Client Relations: I have had the opportunity to sit in on exciting meetings and creative brainstorming sessions for brand building and campaigns. This has also given me great insight into the agency's internal routines for onboarding new clients.
